Changing websites without losing your spot on Google
A new website often changes page addresses. Without redirects, Google and your clients land on pages that no longer exist.
Your current website has addresses: the services page, the contact page, sometimes one page per product. Over time, Google has learned them, and some clients have bookmarked them.
The risk: pages that vanish
When a website is rebuilt, addresses often change. If nothing is planned, the old address leads to an error page. The visitor leaves, and Google eventually forgets the page.
The fix: a redirect for every old address
A redirect tells the browser and Google: "this page has moved, here it is". The visitor lands in the right place without noticing, and the ranking you already earned follows.
At Repix Studio, every old address is listed before launch, then redirected to the matching page on the new website.
Takeaway
Before changing websites, always ask what happens to your old addresses. If the answer is not clear, now is the time to ask.
